Reiki is of Japanese Origin
Mikao Usui is the Founder of Reiki. The system that he implemented came into being in the early 20th Century, after he spent considerable time on Mount Kurama, meditating and fasting.

The word Reiki means 'Spiritual Energy', in the West we commonly refer to this as 'Universal Energy'. All things are made of this energy, you, me, the chair you might be sitting on in this present moment, the screen through which you are reading these words.
